RECLAIMED FURNITUREは時代や社会的背景により、進化していくモノづくりを念頭にAtMa inc.が継続的に取り組んでいるアップサイクルプロジェクトです。
工場や倉庫などを訪れる度に廃棄するしかない端材・廃材の山があるという現実を知ったことをきっかけに、それらの素材を集め再構築することで、テーブル、椅子、オブジェ等を制作しました。
端材・廃材の素材が内包するそれぞれのストーリーをフラットに見つめ、新しい可能性や価値を見出すことで、端材・廃材に新たな役割を取り戻しました。
この考え方や活動は、私たちの基盤となり、今後も地域や社会の協力を得て続きます。
RECLAIMED FURNITURE is an ongoing upcycle project aiming to embody a creation that evolves with the times and the social context by AtMa inc.
Whenever we visited factories and warehouses, we became aware of the reality that there were piles of waste and off-cut materials that had to be discarded, which led us to collect and reconstruct these materials to create tables, chairs and objects. By looking without any preconceptions at the individual stories that each waste material contains, new possibilities and values are discovered, and then each piece is given a new role to shine.
This idea and practices have become our foundation and we would like to continue to create this process of connection with community and society and link it to a circular economy society.
